Primec rebrand Ribbon Cutting

Primec continues 30-year legacy of mechanical services

After more than 30 years delivering high quality mechanical services throughout Australia, Haynes Mechanical has embarked on an exciting new journey, with the company undergoing a full rebrand and changing its name to Primec.
The decision to change the name prevents confusion with sister company Haynes Labour Hire and enables the company to continue its path to becoming an industry leader in the mechanical maintenance services field as Primec.

  • Haynes Mechanical was founded in 1990 and moved to the Mackay region in 1994
  • In 2014 it was purchased by Sime Darby Industrial Services, which also owns Haynes Labour Hire, Austchrome, Pakka Jacks and HMG.
  • Now operating as Primec, the company employs 55 people including 11 apprentices
  • The name Primec is a combination of ‘Prime’ – the best and ‘mechanic’- the services we offer.

“It’s our philosophy of innovation, adaptability and a willingness to meet every challenge thrown at us which drives our success.”

Primec General Manager Tony Liddelow said the new brand delivers a strong message that Primec is a standalone, smart mechanical services company.

“Our new brand conveys who we are; for 30 years we’ve delivered smart mechanical services to our customers,” Mr Liddelow said.

“It’s our philosophy of innovation, adaptability and a willingness to meet every challenge thrown at us which drives our success.”

Mr Liddelow explained the rebrand was part of a larger strategy to embrace future challenges in the industry.

“As a company, we want to position ourselves to embrace new technology and partner with emerging industries as the landscape of the mechanical maintenance sector evolves,” Mr Liddelow said.

“That’s why our new tagline is ‘smart people, smart services’, because we are flexible and can adapt to different challenges.”

Sime Darby Industrial Services CEO Rob Freeman said the new brand will ensure recognition of Primec as its own specialised entity.

“For a long time, our mechanical team have delivered truly expert solutions and now they can be recognised as standalone industry leaders in their field.”

The new brand was launched by Mayor of Mackay Regional Council Greg Williamson at Primec’s Paget facility, where he officially cut the ribbon and met with apprentices and leadership staff before enjoying a workshop tour.

“For a long time, our mechanical team have delivered truly expert solutions and now they can be recognised as standalone industry leaders in their field.”
